At Worst 7-5, at best 9-3.

I think Tulane and Rice are wins for sure.
I think Houston is a loss. They look really good and the type of offense that is a nightmare match up for our defense. Keenum throwing 60 times, the majority of them underneath for 7-8 yards a pop all night long
Tulsa is really good. My god look at their schedule. I dont think many teams in the country would have a better record than they do right now with that schedule. Still think we can win.
Navy....that option has given us trouble since the 90s. We should win but Navy has been a tough win for us no matter what.
Either way, we have our work cut out for us. I think this team can go 9-3 and win a bowl game to go to 10-3. And that would be a thing of beauty which will be a game changer for the program. 7-5 and a bowl game will be nice....but given the amount of seniors on this team, would love for this year to be the year we go a step further. Pony Up either way!

I actually was just thinking this myself. I have us at 8-4 worst. To me, 7-5 would be a huge letdown after our good start.

I started the season thinking 7-5
Still think better. One off game doesn't change my mind

I thought 7-5 coming in but now hope for 8 wins in regular season. Would be pleasantly surprised by a 9-3 finish at this point.

Two things give me confidence for the Navy game. First, our defense for the most part has seen them 2 straight years and will be refining technique rather than going in blindly. Second, USM ran one option last night and Banjo sent the runner, who was tackled for a loss, to the locker room.

8 and 4 at worst, but 9 and 3 likely, and 10 and 2 outstanding!

If we snap back from this loss and get past Tulsa, 9-3 is a good possibility. Looking at Tulsa, last week if you take out the points that Rice's starting QB allowed before he was pulled, Rice gave them a run for there money. ECU's QB destroyed Navy and with how are defense has consistently improved, that should be a win. Tulane and Rice should be Ws as we are team that finally plays up to our level and not down to others. Houston will probably be a loss, given how porous of defense has been against the pass. Houston's defense isn't the best and if our offense gets its game together, we could give them a run for their money.
9-3 is a good season and a sign of continued improvement. 8-4 is a good but a wash and 10-2 would be amazing and mean beating a second ranked team this year (Houston).
The dream would be to go 10-2, rematch a ranked USM at 11-1 (third ranked team we would beat), win and go on to beat an SEC team finishing the year 12-2 and in the top 25.

8-4 is a "wash" after last year's 7-7 finish and this year's schedule? I have to disagree and think 8-4 shows real improvement

A winning season is still a happy thing for me. 7-7 would be disappointing.
We have a good team, but our defense won't hold Houston ... then again not many teams in the country could...
Hopefully the offense gets healthy again and gets its swagger back.

Calling 8-4 a wash may be a little harsh, we have made some great strides (beating TCU), but at the same time we have shown plenty of the same problems (porous D, QB problems, etc). Will be happy to be 8-4 given last years step back, but being able to put away Navy and Tulsa would be a great step forward. I guess I see it as a wash, because of expectations for this team to continuously make large improvements year after year.
Next year if we are in CUSA, should be our toughest yet with Baylor, A&M, and TCU OOC. Only break is getting SFA between Baylor and A&M.

If we are still in CUSA next year, the schedule gets easier because we have USM, Tulsa and Houston at home...not to mention TCU

Schedule gets harder playing at Baylor instead of NW ST at home. However I guess we are also trading out Navy next year for SFA. Our OOC schedule in the coming years is no joke.

In 2013, if we are playing in the BE, we would have to have the best SOS in the conference.
