Interesting update from Benedict Ar...er, Chip Brown regarding the Big 12's conversations with WVU and Notre Dame.

It's becoming clearer and clearer that we're going to end up getting screwed in this whole thing somehow.

How does this screw us? WV goes to the B12 and ND non-revenue go to the B12. So...

Chip Brown is a joke. He said that this could entice Mizzou to stay in Big 12. No effing way.

If there really are talks happening, I'm sure that Swarbrick and the ND donors are really appreciating DeLoss's little "leaks" through Chip. Not sure that internet leaks are the way to get Notre Dame to finally give up their football independence, but I guess I could be wrong. They were remarkably effective at retaining Colorado, Nebraska, A&M, and Missouri.....

Umm. ND would be joining in non-football sports. So they wouldn't be giving up their independence.

You didn't read the whole thing then. It said they would agree to play 6 football games a year against Big 12 opponents and then after a few years they would become a full member when the new tv contracts are negotiated.

It says "a Big 12 school holds out the hope that if Notre Dame moves its non-football sports into the Big 12 it would be a "segue to full conference membership in a year or two - about the time the first tier TV rights (held by ABC/ESPN) are negotiated."

It does not say they will become full time members. A B12 school "hopes" they will be a full time member. Just like the B10 "hopes" ND will join them with all sports. Not happening under the current format. Things would have to drastically change, such as ND would have no chance at a NC or even BCS game without joining a conference.

Not exactly what it says...it says that they HOPE that would happen.

That would be awesome. Although I personally would still cringe a bit each time I had to reach in and retrieve it. And I would laugh as the cash for gold guy sat their and weighed it.

Is it less for liquid gold?
