Same paper reported this morning that the Big 12 was going to raid the rest of the Big East and go to 16 teams.

....Although they got slammed for it by the NYT and have apparently pulled that story down now.

So was Louisville there or not? That story conflicted itself.

"West Virginia, which as reported in yesterday's Post will join the Big 12 in 2013, and Louisville, which is also being eyed by the Big 12, did not attend. It is believed that representatives of the other FBS members - Cincinnati, Connecticut, Louisville, Rutgers and South Florida were at the Washington meeting."

This was the best line:

Air Force was the only potential new member that did not attend but was kept apprised of all aspects of the meeting. One source joked, "'They couldn't get a plane."

This paragraph cracked me up:

The billion-dollar question is whether the league will retain its Automatic Qualifier (AQ) status or lose it to the Conference USA-Mountain West alliance? Several sources said the Big East would remain more attractive because it doesn't have any bottom feeder schools such as New Mexico

Actually, this article makes it sound like it was supposed to be LAST NIGHT (Tuesday). Could be any day now: http://www.ibtimes.com/articles/238101/ ... vy-smu.htm

Looks like the Big East may finally be about to extend offers, but Boise is just waiting on commitment from Air Force: http://www.nj.com/rutgersfootball/index ... ow_on.html

A leading college official said today that Boise State is still waiting on a Air Force making firm commitment to the Big East before following suit. Approval to extend invitations to specific schools is expected to be given to commissioner John Marinatto at the Tuesday meeting.

Houston supposedly does not have their "authority to transact" meeting with their board until tomorrow, so I would not expect they could act until then.
