I'm not seeing much character from any team member
Re: Jeff Reinebold POST GAME TULSA
It would be nice if the alumni would support the team. I've been amazed at the short memories of some of the fans. And, though we aren't going to go undefeated this year, we will still have a good season when compared to pre-Jones teams. PONY UP!

I've been thru it all - thanks
Re: Jeff Reinebold POST GAME TULSA
Jeff is always positive...glad to see the coaches haven't thrown in the towel...the way the team played today it would be easy to quit. Team leadership is lacking....
Re: Jeff Reinebold POST GAME TULSA
The problem is that in the last 2 games, it isn't just a "we got outmatched by a better team" kind of thing. We flat out played at a level where if we called it embarrassing, that would actually be a compliment.
We have enough talent on this team to score more than 10 points in total against these 2 teams. Our players and coaches can't avoid the blame because it falls squarely on them. They showed pretty much nothing. Is that harsh? Maybe, but it's the truth. That doesn't mean any of us alumni have turned on our team or don't support them. It just means that we expect them to play better given their talent and the fact that we are 4 years into the June Jones era and our offense continues to play this erratically.

Totally agree with BigHoss. Absolutely unacceptable. Where is the damn fire?!? You should see people being pissed on the sideline ... team lacks leadership from coaches AND players. Where is your damn pride, guys?!?
Re: Jeff Reinebold POST GAME TULSA
When you see it live it is something to behold.

Re: Jeff Reinebold POST GAME TULSA
we may have played poorly these past 2 games, but we were also on the road against 2 very good CUSA teams that have talent equal to or better than ours
this program is still a work in progress and obviously there is work to do, but we've come a long ways since those back to back one win seasons.
I expected 7-5 this year and will now be disappointed if we can't go 8-4, so these guys are still on track for a good season in my book

You are dead wrong on Tulsa.
Their talent was NOT at our level. There are certain things that you do not see on the tv. In person, our guys were much bigger and we had overall much better team speed.
The last two games showed that that our opponents had more desire than we did.

Re: Jeff Reinebold POST GAME TULSA
I give Tulsa credit for playing a brutal non-conference schedule that may have helped them prepare for CUSA play and I would argue that they do have talent...but clearly they wanted that game yesterday moreso than our guys.
We don't have the talent to just show up and beat anyone at their place

Notice I didn't say...they had no talent.
You said they had better talent which they did not.

I said both USM and Tulsa have talent as good as or better than ours. I would have liked to have had their QB yesterday

you are right...it was obvious to you that SMU was bigger and faster and more talented/skilled but Tulsa's response is *** 38-7 ***
