Can we PLEASE be more careful with thread titles and topics right now? And if you see one that might not help your school, do not respond to it. Let it fall.
This is so elementary it baffles the imagination why any SMU fan would post ANYTHING that might hurt our chances of getting into the Big East.
Think before you post!

Ponyboy is placing the SMU community in a poor light by suggesting that we should censor free expression on Ponyfans

The Constitutional implications might get our invite revoked.
SMU sports forum hates free speech, revoke their invite.

Oh please. I asked that people watch thread titles. I wouldn't require it even if I could.
Listen, if you're making the argument that no one looks at fan boards -- that the human beings involved in making the realignment decisions, or those that provide them info, will never look over here -- well, let's just say I hope you're right. It just seems to me that publicly reinforcing our weaknesses right now is moronic.

Right! Everyone knows that officials attending the Big East conference in Philly are totally surfing PonyFans.com on their PDAs.

Obviously, conference presidents use sports threads to make their decisions on conference realignment.

Ponyboy was absent on the day they taught this lesson:
So the Emperor went in procession under the rich canopy, and every one in the streets said, "How incomparable are the Emperor’s new clothes! what a train he has to his mantle! how it fits him!" No one would let it be perceived that he could see nothing, for that would have shown that he was not fit for his office, or was very stupid. No clothes of the Emperor’s had ever had such a success as these. 31
"But he has nothing on!" a little child cried out at last. 32
"Just hear what that innocent says!" said the father: and one whispered to another what the child had said. 33
"But he has nothing on!" said the whole people at length. That touched the Emperor, for it seemed to him that they were right; but the thought within himself, "I must go through with the procession." And so he held himself a little higher, and the chamberlains held on tighter than ever, and carried the train which did not exist at all.

this may win as dumbest post of the year. do you SERIOUSLY think that when deciding on NCAA Division 1 Athletic Conference affiliation, they look at FAN MESSAGE BOARDS TO SEE WHAT THE TITLE OF THE THREADS ARE?
good lord.
