Junior quarterback Kyle Padron didn't even travel with his teammates the last two weeks after injuring his back while lifting weights a couple of weeks ago. How bad is the injury? When does he expect to resume throwing? Has he given any thought to shutting it down for the rest of the season? Padron visited with PonyFans.com Tuesday to discuss those questions and more.

Enjoy!

It sucks that all these events happen to him even back in HS where he didnt play his senior year because of an injury. I hope once he gets back into it that he will regain his composure and try to earn his spot back and JJ trust, if thats even possible

L4, L5. Hey, mine are messed up too! It is tough to quickly recover. Hang in there Kyle, get better, and stronger.

Oh, and get back on the field and kick some butt!!!!!

Go Ponies!

I think it is absolutely possible. I think he just has to show growth and improvement. It is back to fundamentals.

I really hope he has a safe, complete recovery. Regardless of what anyone else thinks, I still believe he is the best QB on our roster(although I have no way to gauge Preston's ability in comparison) and should be starting at this point.

He is miles ahead of McD physically/athletically and has proven he can make all the throws at various times. As an observer, it seems to me like his biggest struggle is making the proper reads/checkdowns which hopefully can be fixed.

Good luck, Kyle.

Fiji, I couldn't have said it better.

Above all, Kyle, get that back healthy. Ensuring a healthy future is far more important than anything done on the football field.

That said ... looking forward to seeing Kyle back on the field, whether it's this year or next. This is one case in which it seems like the only option is to err on the side of caution.

Good luck, KP. Feel better soon.

Kyle needs to have a future in which he can walk up stairs and chase kids around. Be conservative with this. Take all the extra time you need to feel better ... and then come back and kick some tail on the field.
