Future of CUSA

I really hope the league continues and is smart regarding replacements for UCF, SMU, and UH. It was a major step forward from the WAC and allowed us to elevate our program to AQ status. If I were CUSA I'd send invites to the following:

UTSA - Huge upside. Only show in a town of 1.1 million.
FIU - Cristobal has it going on. Big market. Helps offset loss of UCF.
La Tech - Improving program and a nice fit geographically.

I'd say hellz no to UNT. But that's just me.

I think I'd go with the Alliance with two 8 team conferences. Move UTEP West. Less travel for cash strapped teams. I personally don't see any teams that deserve promotion

UTSA may not deserve it but that market is gonna be attractive to either MWC or CUSA.

Boise State's President just said on the radio that La Tech and New Mexico State would be invited to the CUSA to replace SMU and Houston.

they can go all they want. we used to need to blackball them b/c of recruiting on level playing field. CUSA doesn't even bring them close to BE for recruiting

With both CUSA and the MWC talking about backfilling from the WAC, CUSA should back out of the merger deal and go after the MWC. Invite SDSU, Fresno St, and Nevada. Without them the MWC brings nothing to the table.
