I said in another thread. Of their 6 losses only two of them USM and ND, were blowouts. The other 4 losses were close games less than a TD.

Great news, but Im hoping theyre factoring in all the losses we have against them. I mean their options are just apparently too complicated for our defense (historically). Im hoping that our offense can pound them like they did to tulane. Navy I believe crumbles quickly when the feel badly beaten. Also arent they a first half team like us?

This is our year in our house. I believe we do have the studs on D to contain their option. We do have the experience on D to contain their offense. We do have the explosive offense to put pressure on their O. We do have more maturity on how to win the big games and the close games.

This is must see theater. And Pony Fans should be there. Navy brings an exciting and good crowd. Possibly a fly over and all the other pageantry that accompanies playing a military academy. And then the game should be great.

And we have my lucky flag flying again.

7 points seems about right considering our past against Navy, our current quality wins (that TCU wins is looking even more solid) and their less spectacular year.

typically oddsmakers don't take in history since there is such great turnover from year to year.

That's because they control the clock so well with their running/option game and limit the amount of 'touches' by the offense of the other team. SMU needs to be efficient and score early and often to get them out of their game, as always with Navy.
'Navy crumbles quickly when the feel badly beaten'...wtf is that?

We will lose if we play like we played in the 2nd half against Tulane (or against Tulsa and USM). I wish they could capture whatever it was they had during the 1st half of the Tulane game and play like that from here on out.

Last couple of years we had a lead on them in the 2nd half, we need to put our

foot on thier neck if we get a lead and crush them!!!

I think it all depends on which JJ shows up. If it's the good one, we'll take care of business. If it's the bad one that showed (or didn't show) up at USM and Tulsa, then we're in trouble. I think it also benefits us to play at home. We haven't done that well when we travel away (with the exception of the trip to the horny toads' stadium).

against the line I'll take: Navy, Houston and TCU in those games. The service academies have our number. I think UH could hang 100 on Tulane, and Boise has not been playing well lately against very mediocre teams.

great its "I'm so scared of Navy week". just beat their [deleted] and stop making excuses for losing. They beat us both years because they wanted it more and made big plays down the stretch. They ain't the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. We just haven't been the better team. In fact in none of these games against Army or Navy did SMU deserve to win regardless of their offense
