Navy - It is on our Offense

Our offense is just as important as the defense this week, if not more so. When teams get up by more than 2 scores on Navy, then win over 88% of the time. We all know we will get limited possessions, but if we score early and get up on them by couple of scores we will be in very good shape. Defense is important but our key this week is scoring by the offense. I hope last weeks offense shows up and not the one at USM and Tulsa.

Last year's game was the one that most frustrating I've seen in recent years. SMU implodes in the final seconds of the first half to blow a field goal attempt. Navy completes a deep ball on 3rd and 18? and the game was never the same.

Now, they have a change in QB. Plus, they've lost some tight games. We owe these guys.

The season wasn't the same after that.

Navy's QB is just fine-actually faster than Dobbs-its the Defense where Navy has bigger problems

I agree with Pony in SA. Our offense has to strike quick and often on this team. Our defense SHOULD be okay if they play disciplined, focused, and aggressive.

That's some next level stuff. A team that is up 15+ points in a game wins a large % of the time.

I wasn't hear for Navy last year, but I did watch a replay on cable, and I have one question. Zach Line is bigger than most of the d linemen for navy. Navy d line generally runs about 260 tops. If we have an o line that's averages 300lbs, why don't we run the ball on them. That's what South Carolina did to them earlier this season with Lattimore.

We won't get many opportunities so we need to make the most of them!

Navy is not as small as some on here seem to think.

Their starting NG is 6-5 297, with more NGs of considerable size. Senior starting DE is 6-1 265.

Here is their roster.

This game is definitely all offense, and our defense making big plays in the turnover margin. That way we keep the opportunities available.
