“Air Force is diligent and they’re doing the right thing in saying, ‘Let me know all the answers to all the questions,’” Mountain West commissioner Craig Thompson said. “Not everybody has done it that way. They’ve kind of gone in saying ‘We’re going, then we’ll figure it all out.’ Air Force has said, ‘No, we’ll figure it out, then we’ll decide if we’re going.’”

Craig Thompson is a captain on a sinking ship. people are trying to get on the life boats and he's wanting them to stay on deck for a while while he tries to stick some chewing gum in the 2' hole in the hull.

They are not thinking of staying in the MWC I don't believe it as they know that Conference is failing slowly...the BE is just dealing with a cumbersome government bureaucracy and NOTHING moves quickly. They will commit, but will take longer that the BE likes....it may be several more weeks.

Gould is reportedly indecisive about the uncertainty surrounding both TV money and the stability of the Big East.

I hope they aren't worried about travel costs. They are [deleted] Air Force... I think they can figure out how to get a cheap flight... Also the part about $500 million in cuts, means why in the hell would you ask questions, more money = obvious decision... This is not a matter of national security...

I believe service academies use private funds for athletic travel

I wouldn't be so fast to say just move on from Air Force. Is Navy joining contingent on AFA joining?

Boise is the key to keeping BCS status right now, but having two military academies involved is the key to keeping it long term, especially if there are more defections from the conference. No way anyone would remove AQ status from a conference with 2 of the military academies, congress would definitely get involved at that point.

Absolutely zero incentive for them to stay in the MWC. But if they do then SDSU and BYU more than make up for them staying put. Enjoy the MWC with Utah State, Nevada, and Fresno.

Oh yeah, I also loved MW commissioner, Craig Thompson's sly comment about Air Force doing the right thing... Haha, you know Craig Thompson's name is on Coach Gary Patterson's list for people not allowed in Amon G Carter Stadium for his switching the Boise game to the Blue turf... Maybe June needs to start a list too, hahaha, but we really can always use an additional person in the stands on game days...

Heck if A/F doesnt want to come then, get BYU and maybe try to convince one of the new PAC12 teams that are getting their butts beat constantly.

And sell Colorado and Utah the idea of gettin their butts kicked by former WAC and C-USA schools... Yes, they are the whores Larry Scott got stuck with late night at a bar, he never wanted them, but used them as tools, to manipulate the prettier money seeking whores... Yes, it worked out for Colorada and Utah and I think they are happy just to be there...

I know I just cant think of any decent teams in that area that arent already in the PAC 12. I mean A/F is really the best option for improving the Big East (mainly to keep Boise St. happy, and to entertain BYU).
