When is it scheduled to be built. They could have used it this morning. We definitely don't need to lose a practice with Navy's coming up.

I have no idea, it could be where the old ms. bairds factorys was, but i heard that spot was going to be dorms, I could be wrong. I just dont want it between the church and the stadium (old practice field). Its nice ride on a bike down the boulevard with the scenery. They could find some cheaper deserted land like where the old dr. pepper factory was.

I have heard a nice new soccer stadium will be built where current practice field is on Bishop, and the IPF and outdoor practice fields will be where soccer is now.
I don't think they can build until they have funded the soccer stadium... and also i heard they weren't starting until some of that dorm/tennis/band construction was done.

The Baird's parcel is going to be the new tennis complex and a few other sports facilities. No IPF there. No dorms there either due to an environmental study done a couple of years ago.

Correct. Baird's will be the new location for the tennis facility. The existing facility is being destroyed as early as January.

so on the south end of what is now the practice field, will there be constructed huge poles with netting similar to what one sees at Top Golf?

Yes, but didn't plan it strategically and now need the land where the tennis complex sits for other purposes. As a result, we will now be moving the tennis complex again.

yes but the project was near done when the Bush library plans were proposed. The school is going to pay a lot of money to the athletic dept for this. This will not have to come out of athletics capex budget.

So the Old Ms. Bairds area will be for tennis and some other sports. Indoor soccer field will be on the practice field? That I dont like lol, I really like it just flat, now its going to feel congested, hopefully they can design it well. I like the location (if its true) where the old soccer field is, but I have a feeling we really need to start getting off site areas. UT did with their baseball field. Which btw I heard they are getting a baseball program up and running.

If they do put the IPF on the soccer field and the soccer stadium on the practice fields, depending on the design, SMU could start to look cramped in that section of campus. Having the athletics facilities on campus seems to be a selling point for recruits, but we are running out of room. Here is the
current master plan for anyone interested. Does not show an IPF but does show the new dorms and tennis facilities.

Couldnt agree more on cramp, whats the long range projects, like by the park&pony office. Will that be more admin stuff?
