If Houston gets beat...

TCU will probably end up taking the non-aq BCS spot... They are # 19 now. Will probably make it to #16. Will win their conference. Probably be just ahead of Southern miss if USM wins out. And isn't the rule if a non bcs team is in the top 16, and an aq conference champ (big east in this case) is not in the top 16 the non aq school goes? Isn't the other rule if a non aq conference champion is in the top 12 they go? Boise will be in the top 12 probably, but won't be conference champs.

I think it's 12 and 8 instead of 16 and 12.

You are correct. Since the Big East champion is not going to be ranked in the top 16, the highest-ranked non-AQ conference champion that ends up in the top 16 will get the automatic BCS bid. Houston has the inside track right now, but if they lose TCU/Southern Miss will be next in line. TCU is ahead in the rankings and with their recent success should have no problem staying ahead in the polls and BCS rankings.
Brad Edwards breaks it down pretty well at the following link:

So is it correct that if we beat cougar high then the froggies will likely get to a BCS bowl? Man, that really tears on the emotions. I can't stand to lose to cougar high but helping froggie high is just as painful- maybe more so.
GO PONIES!!!

You're kidding right? Beating Houston (on Gameday no less) would be huge for us, who cares if it helps the toads?

If it makes you feel any better, Boise is still ranked 10 and should Houston lose, they will be next in line with their one loss. No way we climb above them with 2 losses.

Yeah but wouldnt they need to win the MWC to go to a BCS game?

Boise State needs to win the Mountain West to be eligible for that auto bid, that can't happen unless the toads lose their last 2 games (not at all possible).

Boise won't get an at-large bid this year either because the Fiesta Bowl wants Oklahoma-Nebraska. If Nebraska loses to Michigan, they probably take Stanford. The Orange Bowl has the Big East team this year, so the Sugar Bowl will be Alabama vs. Houston/TCU.
(Unless the NC game is an LSU-Alabama rematch. Then not sure who the Sugar Bowl will take. Probably Ok St--assuming they have to lose Bedlam for Bama to be back in the title game.)

We stand to lose a lot of money and BCS points by beating UH or hoping they lose a game.
It's sad to say the best thing for us might be for UH to win out.
I hate UH. And I still want to beat them, damn the money!

TCU lost a lot of BCS money by beating Boise too(if Houston remains undefeated) Nevada last year too. I was just wanting either Boise or UH to make it so that the BE looks better. Would be better if UH makes it to have another team that has been to a BCS bowl IMO. Still hope we beat them though. i want to go 8-4 and then win our bowl and have a 9 win season though. However, No way that happens
That PI call on TCU at the end of the game was obviously the MWC refs trying to save the conference 20 mil lol. Worst call all year. Looked like something the ref would do if UT was about to lose a game

The money will be there.
The way the team is playing, we're going to get boat raced off the field before half.
If we keep it within 40, I will consider it an improvement over the last few weeks.
