So what is Jared Williams' story? I read the write up on the DMN website, Sounds like nobody wanted him and now he could be our starting RB. Didn't find him on rivals and I'm assuming that's not a good sign...

If i remember right he is quick and was thought highly of when we got him

He played for a renegade high school until transferring and becoming eligible only for last 3 games of Senior season at a prominent Florida high school.

He has impressed at practice and looked promising in his brief appearances. That is about all there is to know.

I call him Emmit since he's quick and speedy like Emmit Smith and wears number 22...

10 carries 49 yds 4.9 avg 19 long.

As Stallion said he kind of good lost in the shuffle after transferring. Legit under the radar find.

Williams is a good running back. I think he will surprise everyone. A coach friend of mine knows Williams and speaks very highly of his abilities. I suggest that the biggest negative Williams has is that he is a freshman.

Can show his abilities playing against Houston's run D, but pass blocking is what really scares me.

When he plays at Ford, whenever he carries the ball the announcer should say "He went to Jared.".

He has the size and ability to pass block. However, as a freshman with less experience...Lets hope he uses his talents effectively. I hope Line can play, but if not, I'm looking forward to seeing Williams.

Played in just four-and-a-half games for Southeast as a senior due to Florida High School Athletic Association transfer rules, but gained 315 yards on 64 carries (4.9 average)...
His best effort was a 21-carry, 147-yard effort against Lake Wales in a 21-20 Southeast victory.
