So now...........

what do you think? At the beginning of the season I thought we had a chance to win 8 Games.
That thought was confirmed when we were 5-1 and even raised expectations. Then the players quit on themselves, quit on the team, quit on the coaches and quit on the hard core fans.
I hope next year will be totally different. Who do we blame? I don't know but I will be glad when the issues with this team are resolved. IMO it is much easier to rebuld a team than it is their fan base.
If the players are unhappy with the fan support then they don't understand that it takes longer to rebuild a fan base than it takes to rebuild a team. JMHO.
If would be just as happy if this team didn't go to a bowl game as I don't think they really deserved or earned it. I would not be suprised if Rice didn't beat our butts in the next game.
No - I'm not saying the sky is falling - I am just disappointed this team seems to have quit on us..

GO PONIES!!!

I think we still have a chance to finish 7-5 which is exactly what I had expected/hoped for

will admit that after beating TCU and UCF I was hopeful we could win 8 or even 9 games. We can still finish 8-5 and match SMU's best season in the post DP era. This is no time to freak out, people

True, the appropriate time for a freakout would be after we lose to Rice at home on Senior Day and end the season losing 5 of 6.

Disagree- perhaps not the 'optimistic spirit' but one of reality.

He is just looking at it realistically. Rice scored 34 against UH and we scored 7. I am hoping our offense makes a comeback against Rice but I am not sure they will. Oh well, we'll see.

Not saying it can't happen. Rice is very capable of beating SMU. Let's just hope this team doesn't quit like some of it's fans do

What is your definition of quitting? Doesn't a fan have the right to criticize if they have invested time, money, and effort supporting the program?

I appreciate that fact that someone can actually admit the sky is NOT falling.

Did the kids quit, or did they just run into the meat of the schedule - I've got multiple pre-season mags to my side that said we were improved but it wasn't going to show in the final record because of the difficult (called 'murderous') schedule we had.

We lost to a team that now has the all-time NCAA passing leader on the team while possibly our best player was out for the season. It was a better team, that's all.

Yes, this is a message board where you leave messages...sometimes out of frustration, sometimes out of pride, sometimes out of anger, sometimes out of excitement, sometimes out of happiness. Right now, it is out of disgust.

Ok leopold define Navy....USM and NOT showing up to play at Tulsa.... there are better athletes on this team than the record indicates....the offense just HAS to score more points than a dead man...0 ---in the first half in games, just like last year doesn't work.

well, I've been a fan for almost 50 years and I choose not to quit supporting the progtram. We all have the option to quit, as do the players (of course it might cost them their scholarships). Looked to me like we got beat by a better team today. I choose to believe things will get better as recruiting continues to improve. You say you've been a fan and supported this program for 30 years so you suffered through the worst 20 year stretch of our history...and want to quit now?

I'm just frustrated by bandwagon fans who came in this year believing the hype and expected SMU to be CUSA''s BCS buster...and now are bashing our guys and calling them dogs.

People aren't necessarily upset about the losing, but rather the way we're losing.
Wayyyyyyyyy too many games with no TDs or just one TD.
It's unacceptable for the HC and offense we have.

That said I predicted 7-5 at the start of the year, so I hope the offense gets their [deleted] together and beats Rice.
