why do we keep doing it? it never works and kills us. 2nd and 2, throw a bomb fine, on 3rd and 2 its low percentage and just dumb.

Agreed. Jj just does it to try to spark the offense. Unfortunately, we don't have someone who throws it well and it goes against us.

I can't figure out his decisions...like how we goes to the wildcat in the red zone after McD is finally getting in a rhythm. Both attempts fail and then puts him back in...

did we try to throw to Taylor Thompson in a key situation yesterday? LOL. We might have pulled out the Navy game without that gem.

Actually sometimes it does work. And sometimes the wr's are open but the QB missed them. But either way the pattern is predicable now and Greg Schiano, Charlie Strong, Chris Peterson , Butch Jones, Bronco Mendenhall and others will quickly figure it out.

i don't recall a single deep throw yesterday that our receivers were even CLOSE to getting under. each and every one was at least 5 yards beyond the receiver.

it's great that the UH d-backs weren't going to be able to pick them, but you have to give the receivers a chance to make the play at some point. you can't just step back and throw it as hard as you can. i realize part of it may have been the wind, but the throws were consistently bad.

Totally agree, but do we know if that is the actual call? Could it be the QB has multiple options and is either 1) not making the correct read, or 2) that is the check down that is open but he just can't make the throw?

I'm assuming it is. As we've seen this a lot from June and not just from one QB

It has happened to many times for it not to be a correct read. And Coach Jones will normally say that the wr was open but w could not get him the ball.

Whatever is the case, it is a momentum killer and not doubt contributes to why we are 40 something % on 3 down conversions.

Yea, regardless on whether there is another read - it happens all the time. Seems like we are always around 3rd and 2/3 and dont convert.

Nothing like using a low percentage play to accumulate the needed yardage.

The genius of June strikes again.

The Kaiser could make those throws on either 2nd or 3rd down. Install the Kaiser at the helm of our offense.
