I've been disappointed as most of us have after the TCU game and frankly wonder a bit about June's fire. Don't get me wrong - I love the guy - he's done alot for us but wondering if he's just going through the motions until he goes back to the islands? Layed back is cool when it works but you have to adapt when it doesn't. While my illustruous football career ended before college, I do know it's a game of emotion and if it is channeled properly less talented teams can win. Look at the games this week. Viloria fired up the players. Gone. McKnight (maybe not the best sp teams coach) but fired up the sideline. Gone. Klemm was fired up and visibly upset at times yesterday but the other guys just seem too mellow. I think June believes it's up to the team to pull together and motivate each other as family but if it doesn't work...Just my take.

Defense looked great yesterday. Hard to keep it going when you know the offense can't score though.

IMO- JJ relies on one of the players to be the leader and 'fire up' the team. Our current problem is that there is no team leader. In the past KP did a lot to keep them movitated but since he is not playing/on the sidelines no new leader has emerged.

It depends on the team. Ron Meyer rarely relied one emotion. For him and his teams it was all about getting the job done and doing what it takes to get the job done. He was all about business. The locker room speech on Pony Excess is the only time Meyer raised his voice and got emotional during a game.

Pffffffffffttttt on the sidelines

June looks so dead on the sidelines. I too would like to see some emotion and intensity from him. Young players respond to emotion.. Just look at Vandy's coach James Franklin. He's got them being competitive in the SEC with his vibrant attitude.

tom landry was not excitable. coach don't have to jump up and down to get the job done but I also would like to seem some more emotion.

Coaches don't have to be the ones showing the emotion. Their should be some players showing fire and intensity. As I have previously mentioned, this team currently has no leaders sideline or otherwise.

It's one of those things that looks great when we're winning, and suddenly becomes a point of contention when things aren't going well. Is it an issue? I have no idea.

All I have to go on is that the moustachioed one did plenty of yelling and was plenty fired up on the sidelines, and we still lost a bunch of games.

Gansz Jr is easily the most fired up on the sidelines.

...and this weekend I saw Klemm go off like I've never seen him explode before

I frankly don't see what difference it makes if June acts the way he does or jumps up and down and yells the whole time. In the UH game, I thought the defense came out with fantastic intensity. They played really well until they ran out of gas. Other than not forcing any turnovers, I really couldn't have asked for more out of the D.

On the offensive side, it doesn't seem to me that there is no intensity. Rather, it looks more like the offensive players have lost confidence in the QB. That plus the constant drumbeat of false start and personal foul penalties that our vaunted O-line accumulates have killed our offense. I don't know what happened to McD after the UCF game, but he has regressed badly. He's become a turnover machine and his decision making and accuracy stinks. It seems like he's lost confidence in himself and the other offensive players are following his lead.

It would suggest then that 208 starts over five lineman just isn't enough to play technically sound football. Must need at least 213 collective starts.

I'm no JJM apologist, but maybe his injury is worse than reported? I don't know. And Padron can't play and it appears we have no viable backup.
