Pony Express 3?

Ok, so that's a huge overstatement. But after seeing Williams and Wimbley get some good PT against Rice, I really like the way our RB situation is shaping up for next season. I think we have three good options who all bring slightly different skills to the position.
Also, was it my imagination or did I see McD line up under center at least once when we were close to the end zone on Saturday? I like to see that. The traditional RnS is very limited when you're on the opponent's 4 yard line.

Add our redshirt frosh Niemchi and Young Mr Line (and big brother next year), and we are in for the possibility of some stellar RB rotations.

If the QB doesnt work again, we should go to a run type offense. I think our RB look and sound so much better than the QBs. Maybe Im dillusional because of McDermott...

I expect next year's offense to be pretty well balanced. This year we ran 324 times and threw 450 times. I expect that number to be closer to 50-50% next year with continuing questions at QB and WR and a younger less experienced OL. With Zach back (hopefully at full speed) along with Niemchi, Williams and Wimbley, I'm not ready to declare this Pony Express III, but it could get interesting.
Now, if JJ leaves for UCLA...depending on who comes in here...we may find out if this roster can play smash mouth football

I don't know what the deal is and I think a lot of you may say it goes back on june and his development of players/ his recruiting. However, I do find it a bit odd that June has not been able to develop a standout qb since he has been here. I know KP has showed potential, but we never really got to see him after A&M. And on top of that we have no standout deep threats with the exception of maybe DJ. Why do we seem to be lacking at qb, we don't have a true deep threat and yet were stacked at RB while running the Run N Shoot? Looking at what we have at rb i would much rather see us go from under center and run a more traditional offense.

The criticism of not developing/recruiting a top QB yet is absurd. He was 1-11 his FIRST year which was only a few seasons ago. If you are a 5 star QB you are not coming to a school that bad even if Walsh was the coach. We got much better the next year and then KP was the man, then this year, and now we DO have top QBs wanting to come here (a former 5 star!, a current 4 star, and another potential 4 or 5 star!). I mean what do you want?!? Geez. I don't like criticizing other posts, but enough with the "Jones can't recruit/develop QBs". It's an absolutely absurd statement.

As for receivers hasn't he put a couple of bennet recruits in a position to go to the next level? Doesn't happen w/o a qb. And who has he had time to develop?

Over under, fights between Line brothers at practice. my number is 2.... Not that I think they are disfunctional and screwed up but tough guy families are usually good for a scrap or 2! Think Gronkowski brothers.
Thankfully June gave Zach the chance, I mean Central Michigan didn't want him and my goodness do they ever need him now what a bad season for the Chips. Although they have plenty of talent lined up to contend for the MAC title in the future. But Zach is good enough to play at Michigan State or Purdue or Michigan. Hell I might have never heard of this kid if it wasn't for the Detroit Lions and June Jones and Ponyfans. Because as I said before the guy that steered him to June is still working for the Lions. I think we are gonna draft him. Excellent compliment for our injury plagued RB corps.

Next coach would probably run a spread offense that everybody seems to have success with...........
