All of the coaches should be required to maintain constant status updates like this so that we know what they are up to at all times. And more importantly who's not pulling their weight!

I can see the next status update: "Missed my flight to snag a key recruit due to trying to keep ponyfans.com updated 24/7, after all they pay my salary..."

And EVERY school has a similar arrangement, where some pull more recruiting weight than others. I don't know why Mr dot, dot, dot has his underwear so tied up over this.

I love to see us after so many talented kids. This weekend has a number of Cali kids on campus and all are talented with a few of them verbals. My question is where do we get the scholarships if 5 or 6 of these kids seek to commit and we are still trolling after some Jucos. Seems like we have a chance to have a huge and significant recruiting class that can turn things around, but I keep reading that we on have room for 2 or maybe 3 more. Where do we stand if this weekend brings some hugh hits?

This is why you rarely hear other Coaches comment on the recruitment of recruitable athletes. Surfer Dude routinely violates the rule by commenting on the "ability" of the recruitable athletes. Everybody that follows recruiting knows exactly who is speaking about 60% of the time Surfer Dude posts this crap.

13.10.2 Comments Before Signing. Before the signing of a prospective student-athlete to a National Letter of Intent or an institution's written offer of admission and/or financial aid, a member institution may comment publicly only to the extent of confirming its recruitment of the prospective student-athlete. The institution may not comment generally about the prospective student-athlete's ability or the contribution that the prospective student-athlete might make to the institution's team; further, the institution is precluded from commenting in any manner as to the likelihood of the prospective student-athlete's signing with that institution. Violations of this bylaw do not affect a prospective student-athlete's eligibility and are considered institutional violations per Constitution 2.8.1. (Revised: 1/14/97)
