speaking of High School Football-noticed that HP Coach and SMU alum Randy Allen was badly hurt in a car crash follwing team bus back from HP's loss to Tyler John Tyler game. Hasn't been mentioned on here yet. Think he broke 2 vertebrae in his back and broken ankle

I had not heard that. Very sad. He's a good guy.

Heard from a former coach recently that Ford is the most expensive stadium in N Texas to play high school games in. More than Cowboys. Hence the lack of playoff games like HP v Woodrow.

weak if true. Stupid

Gerald J. Ford Stadium
Capacity - 32,000
Single Day Rate - $10,000 or 10% of gross ticket sales (whichever is greater) + expenses
Field Only - $500/hr + expenses

Yeah, I didn't get the actual figures, but I would think SMU should make it an affordable option. Double headers would draw 20-30k fans.

Friend of mine is on the referee crew for SLC vs Martin...his first time in Ford...I had my sons, his son, and another buddy of theirs up for the Tulane game...trying to advertise the program, as they are TCU bandwagon fans...just can't have that, you know! :)

Randy was a teammate and in my class. Hate to hear this. Please give any updates as you may hear them. He returned a punt for a TD in our freshmen victory over the Shorthorns. Thanks.

There was an article in the Sunday DMN. His Wife and daughter were in crash too but they were apparently unharmed

I could be wrong but I heard UNT charges like 18k to use their stadium.

Here is part of the message that the parents of HP football players got:
He would like to convey to the parents and players that he is ok. He has a couple of broken bones in one of his legs and did have a dislocated ankle which is extremely painful. He wants to convey that Carolyn and his daughter Ashley are doing well and were unharmed, which is a miracle.

could be true. Like I said, I didn't hear any specifics, but the "perception" of this hs coach was that Ford is most expensive. Could Cowboys be cheaper because they have a staff basically in place full time?

UNT's stadium is like 5 months old.
