they are gonna have to play a bowl game that is basically right down the street in New Orleans. I hope we don't turn down the opportunity to go to the Cotton Bowl for the Tix City Bowl and play a beatable Big 10 opponent. Would be good for our program just to play an Ohio State/Penn State, or beat a Purdue or Ilinois. I will say if it means playing Northwestern though, give me Aloha and the Rainbows.

It's beyond stupid if we turn down Ticketcity Bowl in our own backyard vs. a Big Ten opponent. Just mind boggling. Talk about a great way to perhaps get the city of Dallas somewhat interested in what's going on in the program.

LSU is gonna turn down the National Championship game. Their players will not be able to get up to play in the game.

LSU players going to NOLA for a bowl game is like Thor going to Valhalla. They will be treated like Gods. The absolute best place for LSU to be in a bowl game is NOLA. These 18-23 year olds will rule the city and have it laid open before them. It isn't at all like SMU going to the Cotton Bowl.

Les Miles also didn't promise his players a trip to Hawaii.
With that as the alternative, I can totally understand why they would be disappointed about staying on campus over the holidays instead.

Well, maybe if they were ACTUALLY going to the game that the rest of the USA calls the Cotton Bowl instead of the new Bowl Game at Cotten Bowl Stadium, their attitude would be very different. I mean USC don't get all downtrodden about getting "stuck" in the Rose Bowl.

The term laid open somehow gives me a twitch

Feel bad for LSU for not getting an appropriate #2 team. I mean all the one loss teams kinda dont match up with them. This is going to be a very boring BCS. They should add a rule where if you have gotten beaten by the top team in your home stadium you get limited from playing that particular team in the BCS (if at all).

We'll just get to kick Alabama's @ss a third time in a little over a year!

I'd be more in favor of Hawaii if we hadn't just been there 2 years ago. You can't turn down the chance to play a land grant Big 10 school to go play a goofy WAC 4.0 school no matter where the game is held. Not if you are really trying to build your program and be seen as a BCS school. We do want to be a BCS school, right?
