We will know we are about to turn the corner with this program when the coaches feel like Dallas is their home.

Hawaii is a nice place to visit but kind of a dump to live there - not kidding. The people are all on drugs and are strange and after you have been to the beach a dozen times you figure out there is nothing to do and nobody with a brain out there. Time to end the pineapple worship.

Agree! Not advocating anyone leaving SMU, but enough is ENOUGH with Hawaii

Hey SID- you might want to inform some of the coaching staff that many of us are getting tired of their frigging insults to our university. It is one thing to feel something and keep it inside but to publicly and consistently tell us you would rather be elsewhere iS really getting tiresome.
I have previously held back my comments on other topics about our coaches but JR's last post hit the limit.

Its just stupid - does not show any common sense. ANY coach or staff embraces the local city and culture - it helps everything go smoother. This post does not exhibit much in the way of brain cells.

Try this instead Jeff - ...Any bowl is an honor, but hoping we get to Hawaii to visit some old friends and soak up some sun - then back home to Dallas to get back to building a national contender...

I almost think they are trolling at this point and saying that stuff just because they know it pisses people off.

You guys need to get over this. If someone told you "hey, you can have a working vacation in:
a) dallas
b) dallas
c) St. Petersburg
d) Hawaii (and you either grew up there or lived there for years

where would you choose? Unless Hawaii wins and Houston loses we aint going to that bowl. Its the best deal for the team and the worst deal for the fans but the team should come first in our minds.

FYI im hoping like hell for TCB cause I will fly in for it, but if it all works out and they got to Hawaii I have no problem with it.

IMO this has nothing to do with Hawaii Bowl (good for us if we go), but has to do with the insults to SMU and acting like you, as a coach, could give a S*** about your HOME school

I spent a summer at the U of Hawai'i and all I can say was I was so happy to have a four (4) hour afternoon chemistry lab to give me something to do!

The girls I hung with would all gather on the beach on the weekends and discuss how effing bored we were and all wanted to go HOME!

Our biggest entertainment would be watching the latest group of newly arrived tourists come to the beach and lay out all day in the sun to get that instant Hawaiian tan. Little did they know that they had just received a second degree sunburn and their vacation was going to be very painful.

I had my motorcycle, my surfboard, a luxury apartment overlooking Waikiki, girlfriends, alcohol in excess and I still couldn't wait to leave.

Great place to visit for two weeks max but Island Fever exists if you live there for an extended time period.

JJ and staff need to EMBRACE DALLAS!

This coincides with June's statement to Hawaii paper. The Hawaii/BYU game looks to be irrelevant. We are going to Hawaii if Houston wins. This is gonna get expensive if prices don't drop.

He was either misquoted or misspoke. Probably got confused by the 2 UHs. From what ive heard if Houston wins and Hawaii loses we're going TCB. If Houston loses and Hawaii loses its Hawaii w/ SMU v. Nevada. If Houston loses and Hawaii wins its SMU v. Hawaii
