Don't want to start anything, just posting what I am reading and makes me a bit worried. I want JJ to stay and continue to build the program, but I know many of you feel differently. Just a few recent tweets that grabbed my attention, so take for what their worth.

If it's being mentioned it isn't true. We saw how JJ handled the move here. VERY quiet.

Not doubting but I don't get it. He and his crew have helped to rebuild the program which is awesome. For all the forgetfulness though SMU is a team with a lot of history and the institution has a unique group of heavy hitter backers and a hands off admin. That's not going to be the case at either of those schools nor UCLA nor really any state school in this economic climate. Rebuilding a dead CUSA program is not the same as running a Pac12 team. But it does get him closer to the preferred time zone.

And I'll bet dollars to cheese fries this will not end well for JJ. He'll overplay his hand on the next move and that will be that. His rep will end up being rebuilding Hawaii and SMU.

June doesn't like being under a microscope. He is very private and VERY quirky. He does his thin here and the only people who care are about 50 posters to this website.

In Tempe his actions are nightly news.

That's my take too Dutch. I think his ego (and really anyone with any professional ambition) will make him want to move on but SMU and Hawaii are such media backwaters compared to even cruddy Pac12 teams. He doesn't seem wired for the scrutiny of a place that isn't looking for a miracle. JJ has to give 20 people and Kate satisfaction right now. I'd bet half are content that the program is at a spot where it's not completely humiliating to wear an SMU cap at Dallas National w the rest of your UT foursome.

I honestly don't think he has professional ambition. Dont get me wrong. I like JJ. He left Hawaii to basically teach them a lesson to better the university. And it worked. They are finally spending some money.
