Ranking Bowl Interest/Watchability -- Ouch

Top 35 in everything we do!
Seriously though, I don't agree with some of the yawner bowls ranked ahead of us (including their #1 ranking, which I don't know if I'll bother watching given that it will either be a repeat or beg a rubber match), but a bowl after Jan. 2 that isn't BCS is just hard to get on people's radar. I do honestly hope that at least the players are happy about getting a vacation and not "having" to play in Dallas. I mean that honestly. I still don't totally understand the sentiment necessarily, but if they feel more pumped about going somewhere for a bowl, then I hope they can get pumped for this one despite rankings like these.

I'll watch it and every other bowl game, DVR minutes are at a premium right now. My wife seems to think I watch too much football, don't know why, it's all I watch on TV.

They shouldn't be, Virginia Tech, seriously? Hell, even Michigan, we're good but we aren't Sugar Bowl good. WVU is the Big East champ and UM fans for some reason thought they would be a better match up for Va Tech. However, I guess they didn't see WVU pull dead even with LSU in the third quarter. Of course LSU went on to whoop that @ss, but WVU has a good football team.

In my opinion, most bowls this year are terrible matchups. Va Tech? Michigan? Kansas state, Boise St both deserved more than them. Baylor in the Alamo Bowl?? What the hell.

Rose Bowl or nothing, everything else is a consolation prize. Except the MNC game which is over rated compared to the Rose Bowl. My brother in law is from Japan and lives there and in like 2003 or 04, he asked me in that year, who is going to play in the Rose Bowl? NOT the Super Bowl. I said Michigan and USC. I was right on whichever one of those years UM played USC. Apparently the Rose Bowl, globally is bigger than the Super Bowl. The BCS AQ, biggest joke ever.# 14 probably under rated but I kinda like under rated vs over rated for a change. Boise TCU, Michigan State, et all deserve to be pissed BUT.... It's a system set up to get the highest attending fans to the games that are supposed to be the biggest. I HATE the idea that we are the new Notre Dame, but we are.
ALL I wanted to do was go to the Rose Bowl, all my life. I guess settle for the Sugar against a beatable opponent I want to play the best opponnet in the best game possible OR ANYBODY in the Rose Bowl. I don't think it's the Sugar.

Just so you know maize, there are several people that rarely post on this board that did graduate work at Michigan. Some you would be proud of and others you would hide away.

unless you are a fan of one of the participating teams or have a "bowl game pool" going in the office, let's face it...most of these "who cares" games are unwatchable.
It's time to scrap the bowl system and get on with a playoff system. Question is, will there be room for consolation tourneys like bball has? 16 teams won't be enough to appease too many programs with large fan bases and the little guys will have only conference championships to feel good about
most of these bowls are financial drains on the participating schools. It's just become part of the model for building a competitive program...buying your way into a bowl and getting the extra practice time everyone wants

Better than what we have. The system before the BCS was better than now, I wish the Big Ten and Pac Ten and the Rose Bowl had never agreed.
