So I leave for the weekend and come back and all hell has broken loose. I'm trying to piece together exactly what has gone on with the June Jones thing, but way too many bickering posts to figure it out.

I get it that June apparently talked with ASU, but that's not looking so probable right now. Did he leave campus and skip out on our big recruiting weekend last minute to meet with ASU officials?

Just looking for a summary of what happened and seems to have everyone up in arms. I know he's looking at other schools and that sucks, but when your coach gets picked off that's a fairly high class problem (that we haven't had in about 30 years). Houston has been dealing with it all year. Is there anything specific June has done to really get people angry? He's always had a mercenary attitude and I have always suspected that he harbors about 0% loyalty to SMU and/or Dallas. What's new as of this weekend?

some people don't like the time that arizona decided to fly to town.

i read they met with him at a dallas airport, so i don't think he skipped town.

Long story short:
JJs peeps went out and sought out every job opening. Most told them not interested, only school to respond was ASU & there's some personal connections which is the only reason he talked to them.
ASU peeps flew to Dallas Saturday and talked with him. Same day as massively big recruiting weekend.

And scene.

Interviewed on the same day as some of the best recruits we had in 25 years come visit. Then he and his staff tell the recruits that he is interviewing for ASU. SMU fans not mad about the interview just wish he would have shown more respect and waited until the next day to do it. That is the short version.

You know what's really interesting is that when something surfaces, a good number of people really tend to reveal their true feelings on that subject.

As we have witnessed, there are more people who either didn't like Jones or have just tolerated the garbage and kept quiet until they reached a breaking point.

This weekend was that breaking point.

Yeah, and the callous and aloof attitude never really got to me until THIS MOMENT. I've moved to the other side on this now. F*** him if he wants to [Gary Patterson] on this school.

More of a Leach than a Patterson IMO.

either some people know a lot or make a lot up. hard to tell.

that callous and aloof attitude is why this is all just june leveraging to get something here. if he was serious, this would be VERY quiet.

Mitch, some of us liked June and we are not just tolerating him but after this weekend I think we have a right to be upset. I am sure we will calm down but not 2 days after then occurrence. We will be okay but we do need to vent.

Genie is out of the bottle on him, 86 -- for good.

What do you think he's leveraging for? The IPF will get done, so what else does he want?
Plus some folks on here have been saying he's not leveraging for anything this time. They seem to be more in the know.

I bet this wouldn't even be an issue if Trader Vic's didn't close down in Dallas. His discontent with SMU seems to be proportional to his distance from rumaki.
