@khairopoulos Talked to SMU coach June Jones' agent Leigh Steinberg. Wouldn't talk interest in Arizona State. Said Jones has a good job and is happy.

Jones and his agent just didn't expect the backlash against his hire at ASU from boosters and fans there. It appears now that his agent is saying he has a "good job" here now because they realize he probably will not get the job at ASU. So they may be starting to try to correct this situation with SMU. I think they will hold out a little longer to see if in fact he does get it before they say Jones is not interested in the ASU job. Regardless this $uck$ for SMU. Terrible position with recruiting etc.

Maybe the CofC and the university should push him to either formally announce that he has withdrawn from consideration at ASU or resign so that we can move ahead with our coaching search. Nothing wrong with making this situation cut both ways.

With the announcement that the Hawaii coach resigned I think it is even more important to force JJ to make a public announcement that he is staying and will not seek any other opportunities until after next season. Push needs to come to shove. If he is going to leave- help him out the door. If he is going to stay then everybody needs to move on.

I agree redpony. I assume he could probably get the Hawaii job back if nothing else, but he would be taking a serious pay cut to go back.
