A new website, Stadium Journey, publishes reviews of pro and college sports stadiums. They recently reviewed Ford Stadium, so I thought you guys might like to read an outsider's view of our facilities.
http://www.stadiumjourney.com/stadiums/ ... dium-s415/P.S. Peruna is my mascot and I hate the black uniforms, but June Jones is still the best thing that has happened to SMU since the Pony Express.

No doubt it is a good lookin stadium. However, way too many stars for fans and atmosphere unless some of the stars were for the Blvd.

Figured the blvd experience played a big part. Plus it was homecoming.

The SMU band, or better known as the "Hub of SMU Spirit" has been a staple just as long as football and keeps the aura very fresh with an entertaining mix of jazz and swing music. And if you don't respect Mustang football, then you might get a quick-kick from Peruna Tonic. The Mustang mascot, a black stallion Shetland pony, was named after a patented medicine known well for its "kick."
Apparently Peruna's last name is "Tonic" now

Proof that boulevarding was the best decision in year 2000. The atmosphere is great, all we have to do is get people from there to the stadium.

Somehow SMU must get the excitement and pageantry of the blvd into the stadium and for it to be there from 20 minutes before the game until the final seconds. As it is now it seems that people mosey into the stadium to rest up from the blvd and prepare for dinner plans or clubbing later in the evening. The excitement needs to be the game first with everything else secondary but still important.

We just need 9-3, 10-2 seasons where we beat big 12 teams. That will get people going. Beating Tulane and squeaking by Rice doesnt get people out there. We need to do what TCU did, win and win big. Otherwise people will always look at us as a 1-AA team... Hopefully with the our new schedule coming up we are playing very big teams, and we need to play extremely well. I really wish we were able to play Texas this year, because had it been switched with AM we would of won and had tons of buzz, plus win over TCU.

Agree- you've got to schedule and beat bigger programs to generate some buzz. And quit losing the [deleted] Navy

This review is ridiculous, not a single mention of the boulevard, which is essentially the only notable aspect of the smu football experience. Also, our fans are not as loud and proud as A&M. I'm glad to see us getting good pub, but this is kind of bulsh

One idea, and this has been done before, but is have a big name (relatively speaking) music act at Dallas Hall in front of the fraternity tents. Have them play for an hour or so, and then stop 30 min before kickoff and tell everyone to get to the stadium. Also, not sure if this is a rule or not, but let tents serve alcohol longer than just 3 hours before kickoff. Lastly, more night games. People wake up hungover at noon, roll over to the Blvd at 1, and then they want to party for awhile, not go to the stadium an hour later. Sad, I know, but also true

He probably came last year to see the TCU game, or season opener with UTEP

A good review is a good review, I'll take it.
