We Will Be Better Off

As a former player for June that recently graduated (who loved every last bit of my 4 years at SMU and football), everyone needs to relax because SMU will be fine. Sorry for the long post, I've been holding my tongue for a while.
June did some really good things but also some things that were questionable (as most of you like to point out). The best thing that June did for us IMO was show our administration what they need to do in order to bring in the type of recruits for us to be successful. june's football system is pretty flawed however.
If you guys couldn't figure out from the time June was here that the success of the whole team was COMPLETELY dependant on how well the quarterback did (very frustrating for the other players and team, hence the post about something went wrong at SO Miss) then you shouldn't be allowed to post on this board. With June still at the helm the breakout season would be in 2013 with Gilbert (that is if he even panned out to be an adequate R&S quarterback). We could've had LSU's defense this year and if we can't put up more than 7 points on Houston, SO miss and Tulsa then obviously there was a huge flaw. June is very set in his ways and it takes 4 great WR's and 1 Great college system QB to have a great season in June's system no matter how good the rest of the team is. We were FAR TOO GOOD this year to lose 5 games. JJMCD plays good = we start 5-1 and beat a VERY good TCU team who was two plays away from being undefeated and basically would have a strong case for the National Championship. When JJMCD started playing horrible june needed to adapt and it seemed like he just gave up and kind of watched the madness happen. (June loved to have his favorites and rode them till the end). This was a 9 or 10 win team.
Me being on the team at the time, I don't think Padron would have ever been put in if BLM did not get hurt (favorites). Logan Turner was way better IMO and we probably wouldn't have been 1-11 with him at the helm.
I think June made the decision to leave because he looked at the QB situation in the future (next two years) and realized it wasn't so hot (for his system). Now he can go to ASU, bring in a guy as a freshman and if he turns out to be BLM then he will be run out of town quick and if he is Colt Brennan June is a messiah again and will get coach of the year. Simple as that.
June left us with a very good team, we just need a system change offensively that works. Now, let's bring in the next Ron Meyer, ditch the lei's, black hawaiian shirts, scrap Adidas, stick to Red Blue and White, recruit like hell, build an IPF and watch the wins roll in.
