I would approve. He's doing a good job at La Tech and should have beat Houston.

No, but would it be the right hire?

I mean who out there makes a splash? Why wast a bunch of money when you have a guy that can coach and is well known a s agood recruiter...

I like stoops as well....

I'm not sure we need the splash hire...We have all the pieces in place and just need someone willing to work hard and recruit their asz off.

Not a splash (2 years as a HC, record barely over .500) but he knows Texas and would bring the Air Raid. Not a bad hire if we strike out on getting a legit coach.

He won the WAC this year. 3 of his 4 losses were close and to much better teams. Including OT with Miss State and losses to UH and USM. His only bad loss this year was to Hawaii (at home...) but he won his last 7 games. I would be good with this. I am guessing he runs the spread? How bad was La Tech before he got there? He took them 5-7 his first year

Dykes sounds like a diamond in the rough. We should give him a look for sure.

Guy can coach offense...

Dykes, named to the All-American Football Foundation's Mike Campbell Top Assistant Award, is cited as one of the countries brightest offensive minds and top ten college recruiters by Rivals.com.

We have a defense next year, I support Sonny
