He has lied, manipulated, and pissed off the entire athletic department, alumni, and CoC. He overplayed his hand and now he is screwed. Now I understand not wanting to eat 2M of buyout money, but surely SMU attorneys can work something out where both sides walk away pleased. Either way, June has alienated himself from the entire university.

Doesn't this qualify as a breach of contract and thus can be fired without buyout?

You cannot pull this crap and stay at SMU. We are better than that. Show some pride and pony up with a new regime that loves SMU and Peruna!

What a mess. The chickens have come home to nest. Jones is hoist upon his own petard and so is SMU. Where do we go from here? Is there any way that SMU can rid itself from JJ without having to pay him off?

I would think our attorneys can find some wrongdoing on June's behalf over these last several days.

How do we know he will be giving max effort in 2012? He will mail it in just like he did the last half of this year.

Certainly willing to keep June. Ideally, one more year, Mason takes over keeps program going, move Klemm up, don't give up all that has been built during June's time.

you keep him. Its nice to see him get slapped back but thats where the scorned school girl stuff should end. Its a big bad world in D-1 sports and all coaches are mercenaries, JJ is just more of one. Use him like he's used us, pure and simple. Sign our best class in 30 years in February and move on to spring ball. Maybe June will actually do some self reflection and make some changes.

Hopefully Klemm wants to stay on, the guy was a Pac-12 recruiter for like 4 days and got 2 kids to commit there and was poised to get several more. June is pretty much worthless without Klemm.

Welcome to the world of having a desired coach...only been about 30 years.

Everyone who is crying stop it, you're gonna praise him when we win so don't act like you deserved better, you dont, and do you want to know why? We havent had a tradition of winning in 3 decades!!!

This is a business and you don't get to be taken seriously if you get your feelings hurt this bad over what is totally commonplace in coll football these days regardless if your ethical standards.
