"June was one of the candidates that we’ve looked at," A.S.U. Chief Operating Officer Steve Patterson told the Arizona Republic. "We think he is a fine coach and human being, but we’ve made the decision to go in a different direction. There are a lot of very qualified coaches out there and we’re going to continue the process."
