So what. We left for more tv $. AQ was a bonus. UH could have made a BCS bowl this year if they hadn't crapped the bed against USM. So can we.

Its la Cosa Nostra though, once youre in, youre in for life. We will have good bowl tie ins, and we will have strong scheduling giving the BE as good a shot at the title game as the Big 10, Pac 12 and ACC.

"Some of the people that don’t have (BCS AQ status), say they don’t want it," Delany said. "Some of the people that do have it, don’t really care about it. Maybe it needs to be reconsidered.
Like who? Officials put out this meaningless dribble and expect us to say "oh, ok"!

Yeah, such BS. If nobody cared about it, we wouldn't be killing each other and stepping over the bodies of our conference mates to get it. Even teams with it are moving to new conferences to ensure they keep it (WV, Pitt, Cuse). Not to mention Utah, TCU, Boise, UH, SMU, UCF....

I can assure you this is what the Big 12 and SEC, possibly PAC want. They want all the BCS bowls to themselves. The AQ was designed to give everyone a chance to get in that was somewhat worth it. For the non-AQs they had the at-large bid in other words if you dominate the competition, you deserve something as well. Trust me the AQ or some form will stay/created because nobody wants to watch 3 conferences play all the important bowls year in and out, people desire diversity and being able to see small teams succeed. So long as Bevo and Tide collect multi millions of dollars, watch for the lobbyists come out to destroy the BCS and everything that stands in their way.

Big 12, ACC and Big East will vote against it. Big 10 would not be in a major bowl this year without the automatic tie in

The Big East move was still the right one, regardless of what happens to AQ status. We have increased our competition, and eliminated the excuse (if we ever do go 10-2 or 11-1) that "Well, Who did they beat? Rice? UTEP? Tulane?...they don't deserve to play in the Orange Bowl."

Shoulda embraced C-USA, especially since it will be Mount-USA soon.

Fact is, the East Coast media considers those schools heads and shoulders better competition than Rice, Tulane, or UAB...plus, they have a seat at the table now, and I would be willing to bet will always be favored in that type of argument because of it.

we dumped UTEP, Rice, and Tulane, that should be cause for MUCH celebration!! - who the hell knows what happens in 2-3 years. Writers don't, analysts don't - nobody does.
