Supposedly he will be here for the rest of his career. Wonder how long that will be.

More fuel for the fire for when he eventually leaves SMU...and by "eventually" I mean the next solid offer that comes his way.

Maybe UNT will offer him. Then we can still read his quotes in the DMN.

If Jones looses Klemm and possibly Mason from his staff this year over all this, his value will start to fall off a cliff.

It's a good thing he loves being here, just think what he would do if he didn't.

you guys are assuming he gets another decent BCS offer-I'll believe it when I see it. I could see some desperate perennial celler dweller BCS school offering him but not a reputable program-look how excited ASU fans were-97% opposed. He could be here for awhile

I would like him to re-commit to the program and keep moving us forward

I have an inner-city ministry that I started and really feel I have more work to do, and that’s why I’m going to be in Dallas probably for the rest of my career," Jones said.

It was no sure thing that we could hold on to Klemm before or after this week's events. If we manage to hold on to Klemm it will be great. I really like Mason, but if he left I bet June could talk his now unemployed former defensive coordinator Greg McMackin to come to SMU for a few seasons. June seems to have the ability to put together pretty good staffs. We just need a staff where almost everybody recruits, not sure how it works but I've been told some of our coaches do not recruit. Is that common in college football to have position coaches that don't really partcipate in recruiting?

I can assure you that, unless the admin knows that ASU thing was a test to see how fans react, S.O. is out getting a team together to find a coach who wants to be here. Hence, "he will be our coach for 2012" and I imagine that JJ will look into lawsuits either against ASU or agent for putting false hope and ultimately destroying his rep.

Re-read the statement. That doesn't mean he'll coach SMU the rest of his career, just that HE will be in Dallas -- meaning he'll travel here, maybe even keep a property or 2 here etc ...

Good grief. Stop griping.
