So my guess June has 1 more year here. After that we will need IMO a proven winner with HC experience. Now I'm watching ESPN and I'm a little impressed by Willie Fritz, some Juco national championshis, chapionships at DII, about to win a FCS title, knows texas obviously especialy the houston area. What do you guys think?

I'd rather have a retread than Fritz, he doesn't have a lick of experience at the FBS level.

MR Pony, Art Briles' wife does not like the big city from my understanding(that was suppose to be one of the reasons Briles left Houston amongst others) and he just signed a contract extension with a raise today. So you can cross Briles off the list. Mike Leach's buyout would be very large at this point since he has just signed a 10+ milllion dollas contract with WSU.

in all seriousness, there are a handful of really good coaches like Houston Nutt, Slick Rick Newheisel, Jim Tressel, etc, that have recently been fired and in most cases received buyouts. we could have an escalating pay system to bump in Y2 from $1.75 to $3MM (after we start getting BE money to supplement COC). Nutt was hamstrung in the SEC West at Arky & Ole Miss having to deal with Bama & LSU running the show. Slick Rick can use the talent we already have in his system. Tressel just has to keep our guys out of the tattoo parlor, but shouldn't be a problem here b/c there isn't really that much demand for SMU jerseys/autographs like there is for OSU stuff.

Definitely not Houston Nutt. He plays good with other coaches player but once his recruits hit they are not that good. He also can;t seem to develop QB's he recruits. And Tresesl had like a period of time where he can't coach as well as he would be negatively recruited against so hard until it is not funny. I say Gus Malzahn, Chad Morris, or Sonny Dykes. If we go with Dykes let's just hope the Texas Tech coaches does not get fired while he is here.

Why are we willing to have this a-hole stay here? Man up, Steve. Your credibility within college football will instantaneously rise by firing Sheldon. Sheldon is slapping everyone associated with SMU across the face. He has embarrassed himself through his lack of character, and we allow him to embarrass us by our inactivity. Stand up Steve and show this POS the door.
