A Suggested Solution to Everything

There seem to be three groups of people where June Jones is concerned. (1) People who are dissatisfied with his coaching (or QB decisions), despite our winning seasons and bowl games. I think this group is pretty small. (2) People who are mad at Coach Jones for getting very interested in another university, or for the timing involved. This seems to be a pretty big group. (3) People who are grateful for what Coach Jones has done for SMU football and aren't resentful about his interest in coaching somewhere else. I think this is a big group, too. If I skipped another group, it's not intentional.
Next, I doubt that what anybody says, on Ponyfans or elsewhere, is going to change the mind of anyone in these three groups one bit. We're all locked in to one group or another.
So let's lower our fists and just quit fighting among ourselves. How about we take a week or two off from all arguments on Ponyfans about anything or anybody. Let's post about our next recruiting class and the 2012 season and being in the Big East in 2013. Or the weather. SMU has a small fan base and we sure don't need to be yelling at each other. I'm saying this to myself, also. Let's move on, starting right now. Bring on the new recruits in February, and spring training, and a fourth straight winning season. To everybody in the two groups different from mine, my message is: Thanks for supporting SMU football. See you next September. Go Ponies.
