Rice be a good choice, compared to Memphis and ECU?

What is this infactuation with Rice? They would add nothing - no people, no TV market, no winning, no committment to anything. Facilities suck. Their attendence makes us look like UT.
They need to go full Ivy and shut down their program.

Rice is one of the schools that will and should be left behind for their lack of commitment to success in athletics.

NO NO NO NO.
1) They have one of the smallest alumni bases around;
2) They don't actually care about playing football well; and
3) Houston would be in the same market.
My Rankings:
1) Temple - big city, decent alumni base, trying to get better;
2) Memphis - decent sized city, good BB, and FedEx is spending a lot of money to make their programs better; and finally
3) Utah State - another western partner for BSU and SDSU. AFA would be better.

Ugh on Utah St. Rather see UNLV, even though their football team is turrible.

Small enrollment + elite school = bad football program unless you want to so compromise academics. Apparently they are not willing and I can't criticize them for that, not a school of their caliber.
Only time I truly rooted for another school was Rice in CWS, so I would prefer scheduling them over SFA, Texas St or Northwestern State anyday.
