has already set an NFL record for touchbacks, and is within striking distance of the record for net punting average.

I loved watching him kick at SMU. The height he got made me fear for aircraft taking off from Love Field. So glad to see him having much-deserved success in the NFL.

Did not realize Morestedt was doing kickoffs until I saw him boom several out of the end zone on TV last Monday night. Last kicker I recall we had that was that versital was Denis Partee who did all kicking for SMU in the late 60s and then had a very long career for the Chargers finally giving up the field goals and PATs very late in his career. Interestingly, Denis use a soccer style leg swing in his punts giving him great power. I am surprised that his punting style did not become the norm inspite of some necessary blocking adjustments.

Morestead thanks Phil Bennett and Co. for giving him so much practice punting in games.

re-watch the Super Bowl from a couple years ago. morestead kicked the onside at halftime.
