The SMU football team arrived Tuesday in Birmingham, checking into the team hotel as they get ready to take on the Pitt Panthers in Saturday's BBVA Compass Bowl. PonyFans.com caught the Ponies on their way in to the team hotel, and then visited with defensive end Margus Hunt about a number of subjects, including the long layoff since the Mustangs' last game and his impressions of the Pitt offensive line.
Margus Hunt's hidden talent
In case anyone thinks he is nothing more than a discus-throwing, kick-blocking defensive force, Hunt stopped into the cafe in the hotel atrium to show his skills on the keyboard. Hunt started taking piano lessons for the first time during the fall semester.

I have several of those style caps as they are standard fare in Peru. Guess I now need to start taking piano lessons- NOT.

Why I love my alma mater and this program ... most of our guys are not just meatheads -- even the 6'8", 300lb ones from Estonia who could crush your head with one hand.

What is up with the team wearing purple pullovers? Where those give aways from the Bowl Game or are we now honoring the Frogs?

Pretty sure it just looks like that way and that the pullovers are Yale Blue ... the same color our jerseys should be!

They're not purple - the lighting in the atrium of the cafe is a little goofy, so it looks that way on film. Rest assured, they're blue.
