At the start of the season, Mustangs quarterback Kyle Padron looked like a solid sleeper. But after he struggled, he was replaced in the team's spread offense with senior J.J. McDermott. He's at best a developmental quarterback.

SMU defensive end Taylor Thompson shows some skill coming off the line. His size at 6-foot-6, 287 pounds is impressive. He has enough strength to work inside in the NFL. He led the team with seven sacks this season to go along with six forced fumbles.

If McDermott plays in a regular season NFL game, I'll donate $100 to the athletic department. Poor mobility, mid level arm strength, and poor accuracy.

Having said that he is a tough guy who didn't complain through injuries and he went out a winner. I hope he gets a SMU degree and a great job after graduation.

I think they are referencing Padron as the developmental quarterback.

Was easily the most pocket presence McD displayed all season long, he really bailed out the o-line which had a mediocre game pass blocking (not nearly as bad as Pitt though, they blocked us worse than Northwestern State).
