Dallas Skyline wide receiver Thomas Johnson has decommitted from the Texas Longhorns, according to Burnt Orange Nation. The 6'0", 180-pound wideout caught 59 passes for 1,077 yards during his senior season and checked in on ESPN.com and Rivals.com as one of the five best receiver prospects in the country.
Johnson pledged to play for the Longhorns last February but reportedly withdrew his commitment and plans to visit Oregon. The four-star wide receiver is also considering Cal and TCU. He and high school teammate Peter Jinkens planned to continue playing together at Texas before Johnson's decommitment. Both Jinkens and Johnson played in Thursday's Under Armour All-American Game with Johnson catching a 17-yard pass and picking up another 15 yards on an end around run in the first half of the contest.
Austin High's Cayleb Jones and Clear Springs' (League City, TX) Marcus Johnson are the two remaining wide receivers in the Longhorns' recruiting class of 2012. The Longhorns are also going after Hillcrest's (Springfield, Mo.) Dorial Green-Beckham, the top receiver prospect in the country.
