Woke up FIRED UP for the game on Saturday and ambled over to the SMU Austin Alumni game-watching location on Lamar, posted on Facebook..
Found zero people. Zero. Except for one very bored looking sandwich maker.
Headed around the corner to 3rd Base Sportsbar and found one old man in a scooter.
Head hung low, I settled at The Grove in Westlake and watched by myself, but enjoyed the game thread on the laptop.
Thanks to Thad for the invite: should've taken the opportunity.
Are their ANY alums in Austin??? I realize it's a small student body that usually chases opportunity elsewhere, but damn!....

For everyone: Are there any SMU alumni owned bars in Austin? I'd like to start an Austin-wing of RBA. Organized groups like this could solve this problem.

I'm always willing to watch games with fellow Mustangs. I usually force 4-5 Longhorn fans to watch the games at JBlack's. Often there are a couple of TCU fans there to make it interesting. I'm very interested in helping build interest in Austin, as I sometimes feel like I'm on an island out here. PM if you want my contact details.

Sounds good.
I resolved never to watch UT games with UT fans, though.
Ughh...

They were all in Birmingham which is where you should have been.

I travel to most of the home games but seems like I'm out of town on business most of the other Saturdays of the year. Nevertheless, I would like to know of any watch parties down here in the People's Republic.
