has a very nice "5 Bold Predictions" piece on the hometown college football team, SMU, on the front and center of the College section:

Bold. Sounds good. But I'm saying nine wins is more than possible.

As of right now I would be plenty happy with those results.

Based on this year's recruiting class or what?

We have tons of talent taking the field next year.

We have no offensive line, we have no set QB and we play Aggy, Baylor and TCU. We have to replace a lot of people. We think we have talent but hard to know if they haven't taken the field yet. June basically told us that we would take a step back this upcoming season.

But, I think we have a lot of talent.

Some of those who tend to devour their young when talking about SMU could stand a dose of the DMN's optimism.
Good find. Thanks for posting.

I'm no sunshiner, but there has been plenty of criticism of the DMN on this board over the years for lack of coverage. When I saw this yesterday, I was pleasantly surprised. I appreciate the DMN giving us this prime real estate. I'm giving credit when it is due.

And some outstanding photography, as well.

Nice pub. When was the last time the DMN took a little time and space to predict SMU's future?

I think we are fine on the O line. I think or D gets better and creates more TO. And we get settled at QB with a strong back up if needed.

It was a good pub for SMU, sans the comments from the North Texas Community College posters.

Good piece. however, I think we could get our 9th win either against a weakened Baylor squad and we could win the Tick City Bowl or whichever Bowl in which we end up.
