In honor of the 10 year anniversary of setting our own stadium on fire, will we have a reenactment of the South end Zone pyrotechnics again for the 2012 opening game?
Maybe have fire jumpers parachute in the game ball?
Maybe a special helmet decal with the Pony sporting flames (kinda like the ASU devil thing)?
For this game, replace the two big horseys with Smokey Bear?
It is a shame we don’t open against Baylor as we could honor Bennett at halftime with a Fire prevention award. I mean really go all out for it!

Strange, our records book listed Bennett as the 2002 coach.

This was my first game as a new mustang fan...should've been a sign. Bennett was our coach against Navy, in the opening game of 2002. We were told it was a sure win. Ugh.

He was the defensive guru who could stop the option. Er, well....

TCU ran the option against us as well...6 yards...6 yards...7 yards...6 yards...6 years...6 yards...TOUCHDOWN! (repeat). Dreadful to watch.

Will the only song played over the PA system that day be 'Burning Down the House' by the Talking Heads?

Maybe the kids who roll around on the hill can wear orange, red and yellow to create a mock-fire throughout the game.

That is certainly more environmentally friendly. Maybe tie the colors in to our opponent as well. Kinda like honoring our opponent.

Ponyte wrote about the anniversary for Ford and others also mentiond the fire...
My wife and I were tardy for that game. Got into the stadium and wondered what the burned spots on the grass were. After that was resolved we mostly spent the evening wishing we had stayed at the hotel instead of watch the Navy option first hand.
Don't remember if ht egame was on loocal TV thoough.
