Problem with local media

Maybe this horse has been beaten into the ground enough, but sorry I have to vent. Just watched Matt Barrie on NBC 5 at the super bowl. Part of his report was interviewing players with local ties to the Metroplex. He spoke with Marcus Cannon and Malcom Williams, both from TCU. Interview with Sterling Moore, the man who got the Pats into the Super Bowl in the first place? Nope. Not even a mention.

Well, it is a long week out there. I know today was media day, but there will be more opportunities to speak with players. Maybe they will get to a Sterling Moore interview at some point. I hope so at least.

Think this way: they HAD to do this b/c no one knows those guys and now EVERYONE knows who Sterling is and that he's a Mustang! Go Pats!

Almost everything in FW sucks. That city (and everything associated with it) has always felt like the red-headed stepchild to everything Dallas. That city is also pissed off at not having any major team named after it. Very few professional teams are actually still in Dallas yet the teams still bear the name Dallas.
As for the media bias against SMU, I think that's a function of the fact that we have never been able to be fully accepted by the normal Dallas citizen. We're probably perceived the way most Dallasites perceive HP. Most alumns from other schools don't like us because they don't want to have a university in Dallas that is strong in both academics and athletics, because that will take media attention from the big public schools (ie, UT, OU, A&M). The way to stop this is to just win and, therefore, automatically get media attention. They won't have an option but to cover us.

Other than the Cowboys, what team that identifies itself as officially from "Dallas" doesn't play in the city of Dallas?

I hope so. EVERY Dallas station should have interviewed him today at Media Day, and not doing that schtick/crap that the Ticket does. His story is impressive and needs to be told to Dallas fans, with and without SMU affiliation.

Nice work! A little lobbying goes a long way!
I saw the same story yesterday and yelled at the TV.

Listening to 105.3 the Fan yesterday. They gave equal time to Malcolm Williams and Sterling Moore. They brought up SMU alot during the conversation with Moore. All good stuff.
I know who I will be watching on Sunday. And since I don't have a dog in the fight, simply because of Moore's SMU affiliation,,, GO PATS!

NBC5 only reports on car crashes and weight loss secrets.
