Beachum, LeRibeus Invited To NFL Combine
Feb. 10, 2012
DALLAS (SMU) - SMU offensive linemen Kelvin Beachum and Josh LeRibeus are among the players that have been invited to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine February 22-28 in Indianapolis, Ind. The Scouting Combine is the "job fair" for prospective new NFL players. For seven days at Lucas Oil Stadium, more than 300 top prospects are put through a series of drills, tests and interviews with more than 600 NFL personnel including head coaches, general managers and scouts. This intense "job interview" is an exciting time for the athletes and a vital step in achieving their dreams of playing in the NFL.
Beachum and LeRibeus both started all 14 games in 2011, blocking for the conference's leading running back and an offense that ranked among the nation's top 25 in passing offense, as SMU made a bowl appearance for the third straight season and won the BBVA Compass Bowl.
Beachum and LeRibeus are the fourth and fifth Mustangs to attend the Combine in last four years, joining current New Orleans Saint punter Thomas Morstead (2009), current Pittsburgh Steeler wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders (2010) and current Washington Redskin wideout Aldrick Robinson (2011).
Fans can follow the event on NFL.com and on the NFL Network.
