I guess my thread was deleted without any explanation. Why was the thread deleted? I'm sure those that are building posts would like to hear the reason

may have been moved to the thread that talked about it originally.

Why do you think you would get a personal explanation about a thread deletion?

The mods won't respond or give an explanation

I love the idea of putting the skillet on the rings on the years we beat TCU.

After the [deleted] thread was deleted the mods posted a statement on why threads will be deleted in the future (you can see it at the top of the recruiting page). But I'll copy and paste here:

"The [deleted] thread is gone.

Its size made it hard to monitor, and we received countless complaints about its content (name-calling, attacks on SMU athletics personnel and other posters, profanity, inappropriate language and images, etc.) We granted more latitude to that thread than any other in the history of the site, but that will not be repeated going forward. There were WAY too many people taking advantage of that freedom.

In short:

• No more attacks.
• Do not hijack/derail threads.
• Profanity - including misspelled profanity or text printed over images - will not be tolerated.
• Suffice to say, the random thoughts that have popped up on the Around the Hilltop board will be monitored a lot more closely than in the past.

The fact that these things have to be repeated is embarrassing. Posts, threads and posters will be removed, and more quickly than in the past. (For those who care about post counts, for whatever reason, sorry.)

Sorry to have to do this, as many of the posters in that thread understand the ideas of politeness and courtesy. This board has succeeded for so long in large part because it is a place where PonyFans can expect constructive and generally respectful discussion about SMU and its athletic department."

Since the last thread went into the "disrespectful" realm, I'm pretty sure that's why it was deleted.

by monitoring the site, you are now liable for it's content...ironic.
