LUBBOCK , Texas — Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville is being accused of defrauding investors out of more $1.7 million in Alabama following his tenure at Auburn.
A federal lawsuit filed Friday in Montgomery, Ala., names Tuberville, John David Stroud and eight investment entities as defendants, claiming the two men “employed devices, schemes, and artifices to defraud” seven plaintiffs from Arkansas, Alabama and Tennessee.
The suit says Tuberville and Stroud misappropriated assets, and falsified client statements and fund performance reports as they “unjustly enriched themselves” at the expense of the investors.
Tuberville, who spent two seasons away from coaching after leaving Auburn in 2008, did not immediately return a message left with Texas Tech seeking comment.

Wonder how many TT boosters and fans are listening to an endless loop of Cher's "If I Could Turn Back Time."
Re: Tommy Tuberville accused of defrauding investors
As evidenced by his record, some in Lubbock would say he is defrauding Texas Tech by pretending to coach football.
Nobody in football should be called a genius. A genius is a guy like Norman Einstein.

Why would anyone in their right mind think that a college football coach would be a great investment manager? Why not the golf pro or your hair stylist?
Do unto others before they do unto you!!

You guys have it all wrong. Tommy did nothing wrong, he just didn't return the unused portion of Auburn's recruiting slush fund. Like politicians keeping their unused campaign contributions when they leave office.

Re: Tommy Tuberville accused of defrauding investors
Man, the Tubervilles have had their troubles. Also, Tommy's wife ran a red light back in Nov. 2011 in Lubbock. She hit an older guy's car who obtained a head injury in the accident, and the guy died last week from the injuries. No charges have been filed yet but...

Sand Aggies will protect her unless of course the powers that be in Lubbock want them gone.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
