Regional Football Groupings:

East: Connecticut, Navy, Rutgers and Temple
Florida: UCF and USF
Great Rivers: Cincinnati, Louisville and Memphis
Texas: Houston and SMU
Far West: Boise State and San Diego State

Question: Who might be the 14th FB member? Ideally: BYU Most likely: Air Force

Strength: Large Metro markts for BE Football and Basketball. National breath.

Risk: Losing Louisville to Big XII (despite granting Rick Pitino's wish to add BB powers Memphis and Temple.)

Has to be AFA, huh? BYU and Lville to Big 12 if they expand. I sure hope we can keep Lville and get BYU as well.

Personally I'm really happy about this. Means I will be able to see SMU in Philadelphia.

Temple more than good enough for Big East this time around

I am happy for Temple Owls, but most want SMU to be the biggest contributor to the successful remodeling and rebranding of BE. We are in a 'committed' relationship and should embrace our opportunity. Embrace the East!

Meh.

Only good thing is that now Memphis and Temple will be in the same conference so we will actually get to see the 2 worst teams in college football duke it out.

Temple isn't bad anymore. They are probably pretty close to SMU's level.

If Louisville leaves then I don't expect the Big East to pursue another member as football would have 12 teams. If Louisville stays, look for Villanova to step up to FBS.

Boise and SDSU are pushing for another western team. The Big East made some sort of comment about pursuing a "western" team for place #14 and Villanova, should they choose to move up and be accepted by the other members, would become team #15 or #16

Put down the bong, bro  . SMU is going to wreck them in football for years to come. You couldn't be any more wrong

They beat Navy in 2009. We must learn from them.

Edit - This is from the beginning of the game recap:

Temple 27, Navy 24

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Temple is bowl eligible.

Seriously.
