Anybody know the answer?

I just got a PM from a member at
The New Big East asking...
Hey I have a big question for you and heard you might know the answer.
Back in the SMU days when the death penalty happened, do you ever remember a SMU player (may have been a frosh or redshirt frosh) name Tommy Lovelace. He was supposed to be a wide recevier from Virginia and very highly recruited and ended up at SMU.
He may have been recruited the year that Dickerson and James graduated.
He also was rumoured to play WR for the Indy Colts for a couple of years after college...Thanks...Steve (Aztec) Anderson
PS...Saw your picture on another board with "Zuma" at an Aztec game.
Just so you and others know. Zuma IS NOT our mascot and most of us wish he were gone. The Aztec Warrior is our mascot and should be featured at all times...

I checked the 1986 media guide and he is not listed as a member of the squad or a past letterman. Since we were sent to time-out for 2 years after that he could have come later or maybe was a walk-on.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't a scholarship player at any time from late 70s to the DP-could have been a walkon.

I checked the SWC roster and record books from 76 to 86 and didn't see him listed in the two-deep roster.
