since he has been approved by the NCAA for an injury waiver, according to Max Olson of ESPN.com.

I find it ironic that we have had multiple QBs that were 'disappointments' that have gone on to great things at other schools. Could it be we are the 'other' school in this case and for once benefit from the 'disappointment' coming from another bigger program?

I don't think it is old news...it just became official I understand from the NCAA. It was widely speculated but now we KNOW we have him for two years. Great news and I look forward to finally having a ex 5 Star QB on campus. Maybe UT wasn't the place for him and SMU will have him rise to the occasion...I'm betting on Gilbert!

At SMU, Gilbert will have a chance to work with quarterback guru and Mustangs head coach June Jones who is known for rarely running the ball.

Except for the 452 attempts for 2718 yards Zach Line took in the last two years and 236 for 1188 Shawbrey took the year before that.

well, other than the running plays, we rarely run the ball. This Brandon Scott guy just proves that you don't have to know actual facts to report "news".

Just Mitch enjoying being the "kill-joy" on something positive for SMU.

It does amaze me that any one calling themselves a Mustang can pull AGAINST the collaboration of Jones, Phillips and Gilbert as being anything but an unqualified success. I guess I'm still a SUNSHINER and proud of it.

Funny how the media doesnt update a coaches rep over time. Guru tag as a qb coach or offensive genius when nothing could be further from the truth these last years at smu. His strength is hiring staff that produce results and recruiting defensive guys and leading! Gotta admit those who know him really like and admire him. Gilbert will be a star and have a great nfl career. Remember nowmluck and rg3 and tanneyhill werent rated as high as him coming out of hi school

To be fair, June Jones rarely does run the ball. Usually one of the players does.

Sir, Ive known this was going to happen since January. I'm sorry you think this was considered ugliness. It wasnt. I'd also like to remind you I haven't expressed anything regarding this head coach since late December for reasons that are my own.

So the next time you want to make an accusation make sure you know ahead of time.

You have a nice day!

Mitch,

Will you be rooting for SMU football this year, or rooting for the failure of the coach you consider to be the spawn of Satan?
