Now there is a Real Football coach! Jones is licking his chops for some exceptional Runnin and Shootin this season. First Round picks, greatest receivers, QB's leading the nation..... I had to go to the fridge and get a beer I was so excited hearing all the good news...

Hey Stud, with all the talk what do you think the football team's record will be next year?

Only fair you wait for him to finish the case, before asking a difficult question...

The "vibes" that I am receiving from Jones report is that the coach has high expectations for the season. Also the "vibes" I am feeling from Ponypride's reports of the depth and competition of the WR core together with pushing each other for excellence are very promising. Not necessary to mention Darius Johnson and his potential when delivered the ball. The linebackers depth, speed and voracious meat eating habits. Reports of Margus being fully developed and going into draft stratosphere next year... Next bring in Garret Gilbert with attitude and a challenge to lead the nation is passing, not to mention the coaches confidence in our stable of contented QB's who my only concern is none seem to want to step up and take by fight the reins.... So I say it will be Gilbert and I hope he comes with attitude and aggression. No Fear and No Prisoners!! Build the group goals, confidence and energy levels to the highest level in the conference and we will dominate..

Whew... I was getting high thinking of our potential.... I am feeling a downside of winning at least ten games with the potential for twelve wins. Now with that being said I think it is time to get another Beer and sit back and enjoy watching the rest of coach Jones Mustangs draft into the NFL.

Far be it from me to disagree with Coach Jones, but right now I'll take Sanders and Lelie over DJ. And it ain't even close.

However, I'm excited about the possibility of lining up against Baylor in the fall and being proven wrong!

I'm with JonesDoe. This team can be VERY good. Schedule is brutal. All mental/attitude now - we have the talent and depth (mostly) to compete with (and BEAT) anyone on this schedule.

I have seen a few posts talking about the "brutal schedule". I do not comprehend this thought. We have essentially the same schedule as last year, swapping out Navy, who we cannot beat, with Baylor who has one of the worst defenses in the country and no RGIII. And then, all the most difficult teams we play both in and out of conference are at home. We will not get a much better schedule than this year. We, the fans, need to put on our big boy pants and realize we are as good as anyone we play.

I hear you, but Baylor is a much team than Navy IMHO. And Baylor, TCU, and aTm are all pretty early in the season. All I'm saying.

Big boy pants are on. Hope the team feels we can beat Baylor and aTm.

Sure the challenge is there and we will be underdogs in 3 of our 4 nonconference games, but I will still take this year's schedule over last year.

And I agree that Baylor is better than Navy but I think we match up better with Baylor.

Can anyone believe anything he says? I am having a tough time..the only reason he is here is because donors/alum for another school fought administration there and said they did not want him.
